In the opening game of the PBA Recap Highlights On Tour yesterday at the Caloocan Sports Complex in Bagumbong, Caloocan, the young Blackwater team defeated NLEX, 93-88. PBA Highlights - PBA Governor's Cup 2023

The Road Warriors were nearly defeated by the Bossing, who were led by Mike Ayonayon, Rey Suerte, and RK Ilagan.

In the first game of the preseason series using the new game regulations, Ayonayon led the way with 16 points in 18:23 of action off the bench, Suerte added 14, and Ilagan provided all-around figures of nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

NLEX coach Frankie Lim used the challenge rule in the game, which was presented by Arena Plus with Bingo Plus serving as the primary sponsor. The challenge worked, and it was successful early in the fourth quarter.

As NLEX increased the score to 81-85 with three minutes remaining in the game, it handed them possession, which they turned into points.

Despite facing an 18-point deficit, The Bossing held on to win in front of a sizable crowd that included Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan.

Blackwater had an advantage over NLEX in terms of their running game, scoring 24 fastbreak points to NLEX's 10.

"Mga bata kami, so kailangan tumakbo, itaas ang energy," proclaimed Ilagan. We concentrated on our stamina. That was the trinabaho naming in the examination.

While NLEX was without Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Blackwater was without Troy Rosario and Jvee Casio.

Sean Anthony led the Road Warriors with 18 points, and Don Trollano (15), Bong Galanza (13), and Dominic Fajardo (10), all of whom scored in double figures.
