Game Reports

PBA Recap, Hotshots extend their flawless winning streak to four games with a victory in the Manila Clasico on tour.

Magnolia emerged victorious in their PBA On Tour Manila Clasico clash against Barangay Ginebra at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Sunday.

After a tied score of 72-all, Mark Barroca and his teammates went on a crucial run to create a gap, securing a 91-80 triumph and extending their unbeaten streak to four games. With this win, Magnolia improved to 4-0 while handing Ginebra their second loss in as many games.

Barroca led the scoring with 20 points, supported by Jerrick Ahanmisi, Jio Jalalon, and Jackson Corpuz who contributed 17, 12, and 11 points respectively for the Hotshots. Despite struggling throughout the game, Paul Lee's three-pointer in the final minutes all but sealed the victory for Magnolia at 89-80.

Prior to that, the former UE hotshots had a disappointing 0-of-5 shooting record from beyond the arc.

Following Lee's successful three-pointer, James Laput displayed an impressive performance by securing an offensive rebound and scoring on a putback. He finished the game with an outstanding eight points and 12 rebounds for the Hotshots.

Meanwhile, Raymond Aguilar had an explosive game, contributing 22 points for the Ginebra team despite missing key players like Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Jamie Malonzo, Christian Standhardinger, Stanley Pringle, and even head coach Tim Cone.

Kim Cyril Aurin, Nards Pinto, and Von Pessumal were the other Ginebra players who reached double figures with 12, 11, and 11 points respectively.

Despite lacking their core players, the Kings put up a strong fight throughout the game, but encountered difficulties in the final stretch. They only managed to score eight points in the last seven and a half minutes of the game.
