McCarthy scores 30 points to help Blackwater defeat Converge.
In the PBA Recap Highlights On Tour, JUSTIN Arana was determined to stop Converge's downward trend.
But Rashawn McCarthy and his Blackwater teammates also had their own goals in mind, which is why they managed to defeat the FiberXers in the Ynares Arena in Pasig City by a score of 102-97.
In order to help the Bossing endure Arana's second-half outburst, which netted the latter a tournament-record 32 points in addition to 17 rebounds, McCarthy dispersed 13 of his team's high 30 points in the fourth quarter.
With the victory, Blackwater improved to 3-2 in this preseason series, which is being hosted by Arena Plus and sponsored by Bingo Plus. Blackwater had lost to Northport last Friday, 95-112, and needed to get back on track.
McCarthy, who entered the game averaging just 9.3 points, said it all came down to his team's commitment to resuming its winning ways as a whole.
The coaches and all of my teammates have been very locked in the last couple of days in practice, and we were just locked in from the very beginning, defensively, according to McCarthy. "We just really wanted to bounce back after our last game against NorthPort," McCarthy said.
