PBA Recap Anthony and Adamos guide NLEX to their inaugural victory against Phoenix.

In a remarkable comeback from his vacation, SEAN Anthony delivered an exceptional triple-double performance, propelling NLEX to a decisive 112-95 victory over Phoenix Super LPG in the PBA On Tour event held at the Ynares Arena in Pasig on Friday. Anthony showcased his versatility by amassing 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists. Additionally, the team's new recruit, Benedict Adamos, also made a significant impact with an impressive double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. This breakthrough win came after NLEX faced consecutive losses against Blackwater, Rain or Shine, and Magnolia.

Contributing to the Road Warriors' triumph, Dominic Fajardo, Don Trollano, and Hessed Gabo chipped in with 17, 14, and 11 points, respectively. NLEX dominated the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 35-16, which allowed them to establish a comfortable lead and hand the Fuel Masters their second loss in the series presented by Arena Plus and sponsored by Bingo Plus.

With excellent ball movement, the Road Warriors found scoring opportunities from multiple players, propelling them to a commanding 63-40 lead at halftime. Their strong performance allowed them to secure the victory early on.

"That's our objective, to move the ball effectively, and our priority is to play solid defense," stated Anthony, expressing his hope that they can build on this win and continue their positive momentum.

Providing significant support was Adamos, who recorded an impressive double-double performance. Following his 18-point debut as a Road Warrior in their previous game, a 97-103 loss to the Hotshots in Baliwag, Bulacan, Adamos once again made a substantial contribution to the team's success.

"Adamos is a fantastic addition to our team," expressed Anthony, referring to their trade acquisition from Phoenix, where they exchanged veteran guard Reden Celda and young big man Tzaddy Rangel.

During his time with the Fuel Masters in the 2022-2023 PBA Governors' Cup, Adamos had limited opportunities and played a minimal role, averaging only 1.38 points in 3.1 minutes per game across eight appearances. However, with his former college coach Frankie Lim at the helm of NLEX, Adamos appears to be on track for more significant contributions.

Displaying solid performance in the paint, the former Perpetual Alta showcased his skills by going 10-of-27 from the field. Additionally, Adamos demonstrated effective defense, forcing the Fuel Masters to alter their shots. He also provided valuable screens for his teammates.

"He played exceptional defense, forcing the Fuel Masters to adjust their shots," acknowledged Anthony, appreciating Adamos' defensive prowess.
