As Terrafirma is conquered by Blackwater, Rosario begins to warm up.
In their PBA Recap On Tour match on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, Blackwater held off Terrafirma by a score of 100-94 thanks to TROY Rosario's leadership and the cooperation of his teammates during the PBA Recap Highlights.
Before players like Rashawn McCarthy, RK Ilagan, Baser Amer, and Mike Ayonayon took over the majority of the final 24 minutes to help the Bossing avenge their 83-117 loss to Magnolia last Sunday, Rosario had dispersed 17 of his team's high 20 points in the first half.
We faced challenges in that particular game, according to Rosario, who shot 8 for 13 from the floor and added five rebounds. "Sabi ng mga coaches namin, titingnan naming kung paano kami mag-respond after that big loss sa Magnolia," Rosario said.
Rosario said, "Kailangan kong i-start iyon, kaming mga veterans, I think." So it's a good thing that my teammates, both on offense and defense, are sumunod.
The Terrafirma surge that drew it within 87-94 after falling behind by as many as 14 points early in the fourth period was stopped cold by Amer's corner 3-pointer, which helped Blackwater move to 2-1 in the preseason.
With only 33 seconds left in the game, presented by Arena Plus and supported by Bingo Plus, the Bossing took a 99-89 lead thanks to 5-foot-6 Ilagan, who outran 6-foot-8 Isaac Go and blasted in a triple before grabbing the offensive rebound and turning it into a short stab.
This defeat should hurt Terrafirma more than its 82-119 setback to Converge last Friday because it was the team's second in as many games.
The Dyip were able to stay up with the Bossing in the early stages of the game despite the absence of injured Kevin Ferrer, Eric Camson, JP Calvo, and Alex Cabagnot.
However, Allan Mina, who made all five of his shots at the beginning of the game and had 16 points, injured his right ankle in the second quarter.
After rejoining the game, he quickly lost all motivation and missed his final three shots, finishing with just 19 points while leading Terrafirma in scoring with 22 points while shooting just 6-for-19 from the field due to illness, Juami Tiongson is still working to regain his previous lethal form.
Andreas Cahilig concluded the game with 16 points and 13 rebounds, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter and allowed the Dyip remain in the contest.
When Blackwater used a more balanced offensive approach to outscore Terrafirma 31-19 in the third session to erase a 53-54 halftime deficit and take an 84-73 advantage into the final 12 minutes of play, the odds started to shift in Blackwater's favor. (NC).
