On Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers won the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball championship against the National University Lady Bulldogs. Thea Gagate expressed her happiness at being able to repay the team's trust during the game.
During the fifth set of the championship game, Thea Gagate played a crucial role in securing the victory for the De La Salle University Lady Spikers. She made three blocks, including a notable one against NU's Bella Belen that pushed La Salle's lead to 13-9. Gagate then scored a hit that further cemented their hold on the championship.
After the game, Gagate expressed her appreciation for the team's trust in her, especially since she had not made many contributions in the previous sets. She ended up with a total of 17 points, including 5 blocks, for the Lady Spikers, who now hold 12 women's volleyball titles overall.
